It seems like the leaders in Europe are using the mess that socialism has created to prop socialism back up again-
Looks like it just got even more difficult to advance the cause of freedom now.

That’s normal. Whenever any socialist nonsense fails, it’s always blamed on “capitalism”, because socialism can NEVER fail. It’s always good and moral.
No politician can admit the problems that they have created, because it is so much easier for them to point the finger at someone else.
The funny thing is that they cannot do absolutely nothing about it. They can brag endlessly about the joys of “socialism”, “Socialdemocracy” or whatever form of collectivism but they know very well that they need the free market, as hampered and managed as it is. They need it desperately.
Everybody apart from elegant leftists and enviromentalists (the last children of Marx, the ones Mises wisely warned us against shortly before dying) has now understood that the reason Europe stopped growing is the weight of taxation and regulation chocking everything. They know that to have growth (and so raising the quantity of stolen money they get from taxation) they need to deregulate and cut taxes, but they can’t. Less taxes would mean a smaller pie to be distributed among their supporters and less regulation would mean that a lot of people would be thrown on a street or would start to work seriously. So we see the tragicomic expedients of the last few years: for example Chancellor Merkel increased private taxation (by rising the most common VAT type from 16 to 19%) to cut corporation taxes while maintaing the same level of spending. Switzerland has increased taxation on foreign-owned bank accounts to increase public spending without rising taxes on voting residents: foreign funds are taking the way of Singapore, Bahama, the Cayman Islands etc. See where the German economy is now. The parasites know very well that they need a healthy host to live but are starting to realize in terror that the host is very sick: it has been bled to death by the increased greed of the parasites and seriously fatigued by their increasing number. Please realize the beautiful irony of the situation.
Today votation were held in both Austria and Bavaria: populist movements, like the famed FPOe, have scored a major result, but the true winner is the ever increasing abstention. people is starting to lose faith in the system. Which is good.
