I tend towards the latter, It cuts so much money over 10 years, the debt will still grow won’t it?
You see, the government takes the view that the money is theirs, and that therefore a massive tax hike - an “increase in revenue” - is the equivalent of cutting spending. It’s a joke.
Save $500 billion over ten years, wow… Along with an incalcuable tax hike in the form of quashing “tax breaks” to the tune of a few trillion. That’s not money ‘saved by America’, that’s money taken from America by Washington. How much debt has the government incurred over the last ten years? What about unfunded liabilities? The whole thing is just humbuggery and political postponement to a time when these jackasses won’t be in office anymore.
Nothing with a balanced budget amendment will pass. It requires a supermajority to raise taxes and no Democrats will vote for that.
