I recently came across the following quote which has been attributed to von Mises:
“Government intervention always breeds economic dislocations that necessitate more government intervention.”
But I cannot find the source. Does anyone have any evidence that he actually said this?
A quick search says no, at least not exactly in those words. Though he did elucidate the idea very often: The state attempts to cover up the bad consequences of past interventions with more interventions, which leads to more bad consequences.
