It is really, really sad. This is the perfect time for him to state the TRUTH:
Like: “Government should not be in the business of improving the economy. They destroy wealth, impede those who want to create wealth, and run the economy into the ground.”
Instead, he goes on with his lies in his inaugural address, blissfully ignorant of economic study, and the bad things government has done. He will repeat the past, ironically opposing his motto: CHANGE.
I couldn’t even avoid “the man” when I turned a German news channel on while eating lunch. These guys are supposed to deliver news, but instead, I was informed about Obama’s biography and his “long way to the top”.
Then they said, “But instead of working in a famous attorney’s office, he decided to take the difficult path and became a politician”. I was on the verge of tears.
Any bets on when they’ll figure out that he’s just another politicrook?
I resent that. In the age of identity politics, I am claiming Obama as being one of my people. Obama is the first half-white President, not the first black President.
He represents half breeds all over the world. He does not represent black people! He’s half whitey like me!
LOL. Actually, a very good description of Obama is that he’s the ultimate Whiter Person. He’s liberal, Ivy League, urban professional and–the ultimate SWPL cachet–he’s half black.
I am a bit surprised that nothing has been said so far that would have anything to do with th inauguration. Still the same Obama bashing.
To be sure I don’t think Obama is either the Messiah nor a man that eventually will cope with the issues in a way that prevents more pain and destruction. He is a statist and in that sense he is part of the system. Just so no one that does not know me starts a flame war calling me a Obama supporter.
Yet, I am also someone that listens to what others say and not what I think they are going to say, and who judges others by what they actually do. So far Obama hasn’t done anything as a president but his inauguration speech. Why not talk about it?
I was surprised how less he talked about Lincoln, or FDR (it would be hard to even find an indirect notion). I was pretty astounded about his remarks regarding security and liberty -in a positiv way that is.
I do not consider a liberal to be literate in economics though. Yet, this speech was not the bad. Yes, I raised my eybrows about his remarks to the environmental issue, but not even his remarks on greed have to be targeted at capitalism. Another intersting point was what he said about small or big gvn’t. The “whatever works” is pretty open, no?
Whatever he has in mind, The speech was not diverting, it was not threatening us libertarians in our basic believes. It was simply a speech that can be used to measure his actions to come on.
So let’s lean back, cool down, watch and see and let’s critize the actions and not his heritage, race, behavior or cnn.
While watchin it in school, my teacher started crying. lol, he is also a self proclaimed socialist even though I do not regard Obama as a full on socialist.
I’m already criticizing Baracktrack Obama’s actions. He leveled illegal sanctions on Iran, the consequences of which we probably cannot measure. He has continued to authorize militarism, aggressive war, torture, murder and genocide.
He has stolen money from the people, and he will continue to steal money and spread it around to his banker buddies, if you will recall, he was notorious for endorsing the bailout during the campaign.
You want to give him a pass for all of the evil he perpetrated as a Senator because now he is President?
He’s gunna make coercive state actions that are good? Gimme a break. His speeches aren’t worth the paper they are written on. Tell that to the people of Gaza who lost family and property, while Baracktrack stood silent. And even his lame excuse, that he wasn’t President yet, ,didn’t prevent him from shooting off his mouth on Pakistan, Russia or Iran over the last 6 months. No, he’s just another statist hypocrite stooge. Another Beltway murderer in a dark suit.
I can’t believe anyone with half a brain (sorry to all who are offended) bothered to listen to his speech, like it is an enlightenment or DaVinci code for the next 4 years.
I’ve been pushing this with all my friends. Anyone who claims he is the first black President, point out he is the first half white President. Because at least that claim is honest.
And yes, as I told a friend who cried when Baracktrack was elected, he isn’t an African-American culturally. Only racially. It’s an important distinction. At least Martin Luther King could identify with poor blacks and racial injustice. By all accounts, Obama has lived a life of privilege and comfort. As I saw on LRC, he gave up the wealth of being a lawyer, so he could be a humble politician. lol
i can not remember the exact quotes but i think he said some pretty concerning things…“we saw what happens when the market is allowed to run loose” something something…“more gov’t regulation or oversight”…then of course the “create jobs” phrase and there was something else said fairly concerning…i need the transcript…pretty blatant anti-free market stuff…but i agree there was some positive things…as far as actions are concerned, he just became president..so he has not done much..but, he has obviously been heavily pushing to get to the rest of the bailout money as president elect..so yea..he is already on the wrong side for me
