What do you mean? If you buy contacts on the box is the prescription for each eye, with this you can buy your contacts anywhere. I can order mine online.

Most online sites require you to have a prescription from an eye doctor. At least all the ones in the US do. Is the eye doctor required to give you your copy of the prescription? Or are they just required to give it to whatever site you order it from?
Reason I’m asking is, I want a copy of my prescription so I can order my contacts, but next year I want to change the date on it and order them again without going to the eye doctor again.
My doctor always gives me a carbon copy of my prescription. If you go to where you got your exam done they should be able to give you a copy as well.
Honestly though you really should get your eyes checked regularly.
that’s the thing…they didn’t give me my copy. they said they’ll hold onto it. And if I order my contacts somewhere else, to give them their phone number and they’ll give them the info.

Eh, I guess it depends. The site I can order mine from sort of is a membership thing that I got last time I got my eyes checked out and bought contacts/glasses. I guess maybe the store I had gone to is connected to the site, etc. I suggest just asking for the prescription from whatever place to you went to, or if they have their own online store.

For example my right eye is D -3.25 and my left eye is D -2.75, with the numbers BC 8.6 and DIA 14.2 that follow. With this, I figured they “give” you what the prescription is when you physically have the prescription. When I order I put the brand and numbers in and tada! contacts.

I know all the numbers. That’s not what they require. I mean, of course they need those numbers, but they need the doctor’s permission (in the form of a prescriptiopn).

I’ve looked at alot of sites. All the ones I see require the doctor’s prescription.
Although, there was one site, I forgot the name…in the UK…but after the shipping was added, it was more than the other sites. I wish there were a bunch of TRUSTED sites from mexico that were cheaper. Since the shipping wouldn’t be as much, probably.
I’ve never heard of having to provide an opticians’ prescription to order contacts online. Maybe try somewhere not US based? There is a UK website where I get mine from, and all you need is the details of your eyes.

Although now that I re-read your posts, how do verify that the contacts you order are your correct ones? I mean, is your eye sight constant, or do you still go get eye exams periodically to ensure that you’re up to date.
