In the sense that it turns most people into zombie consumers because saving and investment are both ruined.
What McKibbin said is true. Artificial credit expansion inevitably drives down interest rates, so discouraging saving and encouraging consumption. And since paper money costs nothing to produce, nominal interest rates just have to be above zero for the central-banking cartel for make a huge profit.
To answer the question about morality, yes, I think an economic crisis does affect morality. Ceteris paribus, people are more like to steal–and kill–when they lose the shirts off their backs. Sad but true.
