This is the second question I’m posting on here. Here’s my first one if you want to add your 2 cents there: As Austrian Economists, what is the best way to approach discussion with others? - #17 by Jon_Irenicus
I’m a college student at Belmont University, and I have to write a research paper on the “subculture” of mises.org and other subcultures surrounding Austrian economics. I can’t really go do a real observation for this, my only means of gathering information is through questioning and reading articles. I picked Austrian Economics because I’m a subscriber to it, and I love to talk about it haha!
So do you think, in light of our current economic turmoil, that the media is more biased against the Austrian School’s way of thinking or more open to it?
I think some try to be biased against it since every time Peter Schiff does an interview, after his first response someone inevitably counters with “Yeah but didn’t the free market get us into this mess?” This is kind of a blessing since Peter Schiff can explain how “free” our market really was prior to this mess.
