Friends,
Can anyone suggest a nice historical survey of the Free Banking era of the United States in addition to the reading materials I shall list below? I plan to pick up Rothbard’s History of Money and Banking in the United States, another book called Banks and Politics in America from the Revolution to the Civil War by Hammond, and this other book by Robert Remini that focuses specifically on Andrew Jackson’s Bank War to give me a more detailed precursor to the era than I have already taken away from a condensed (but very good) authoritative biography on Andrew Jackson, also by Remini.
Take care
