Not sure how many of you are tech geeks like me, but I watch some of the “government tech” stories on ZDNet, and reply to them from time to time.
This one in particular just makes me sick, and the response of many people are partly the cause. It’s amazing to me how many people think that Intel, Microsoft, and other successful corporations are “monopolies”. That word gets bandied about quite a lot when discussing those entities. Many of the people posting responses are happy about things like this.
I wish that Intel and Microsoft could, or would, just leave Europe and tell them to get bent. But I imagine that even with the monetary punishments they can still turn a profit…otherwise they wouldn’t keep doing business there.
If Microsoft leaves Europe, the European governments could simply say that MIcrosoft is constraining trade, and thus, force Microsoft to sell it’s products in Europe.
Obama eyeing up Anti-Trust cases in the U.S. against DNC and Big Labor. This one is really odd. He’s going after his own party, DNC, even though he has expanded efforts in his own party to have more personnel that go out into the public to keep swaying them on Obama’s ideas. I don’t get this one at all. Also going after Big Labor Unions which are socialist minded. I don’t get this turn of events. And I know it’s not cause he’s trying to be fair.

What’s odd about these reports is I heard them a couple days ago, and then I saw this Intel report coming out of the EU. I think the governments are looking for cash due to the economy, but that’s an opinion I hold along with the populist always likes a good Anti-Trust case to hurt the wealthy. But where there seems to be no doubt is some coordination between the EU and U.S. going on here. Just like with the G20 Economic Summits, the Banking cartel, and with the Swine Flue virus. Now looks like a coordinated effort with these Anti-Trust cases.
In one of those PBS documentaries, it was said that, when Obama became president of the Harvard Law Review, he appointed a mostly-Republican staff. When I saw this, I thought, if Obama becomes POTUS, he will keep much of Bush’s staff or at least appoint a staff that would represent both the Dems and the Repubs. This is why I wasn’t surprised when Obama kept Robert Gates as Secretary of Defense. Obama panders to all (statist) political parties and this consistent with his belief that everyone has a voice as long as it keeps him in power. This is why his speeches have been sounding very libertarian yet statist; he’s pandering to everyone, as long as they are statist. And we have already established that statist are either stupid or evil. Finally, Obama isn’t really a Democrat or a Republican; he’s a fullblown statist, but we know he isn’t stupid.
Interesting how that far back he kept mostly Republican staffers. It didn’t surprise me when he did it when he got into office, especially since he’s supposed to usher in a New World Order as former Sec. of State Kissinger said on numerous occasions and one being on the New York Stock Exchange floor on MSNBC (U.S. TV media). What I thought was particularly odd was he just expanded the DNC and now he wants to go after it cause it’s too big. I can’t find a link on the internet it’s buried somewhere, but I don’t know if anybody else remembers how Obama expanded the DNC personnel. They walked door to door when Obama was pushing for his Stimulus Bill. He expands it, then says its too big. He is a statist, but this is an odd move.
I wonder what would happen if Intel called their bluff and just didn’t pay the fine?
I guess the EU would ban Intel products from being sold in Europe, but I would expect consumers to scream bloody murder if the EU actually went through with it.
True. I’m also trying to see what they are doing this now for. Cause when the government creates a problem and then proposes itself as the solution the government is also exercising it’s power and authority. It’s like somebody that doesn’t like where the picture should be nailed to the wall. Go this way, no back, a little to the left, now right, back up, now go down a little. The picture holder has to either be more tolerant or finally get frustrated and leave. The government is counting on the public to just become more lax, docile, and tolerant and accept more and more of whatever the government does. They are softening the will of the public with each one of these kinds of acts. With each exercise like this the minds of the statist followers are habituated and regulated. These kinds of statist exercises strengthen their power no doubt.
I mean there’s the ridiculous assertion the General Mills needs to file for a drug ‘stamp’ to allow the cereal Cheerios stay on the shelves. The FDA, government, said to General Mills to advertise that their cereal helps the heart is to say that the cereal is a pharmaceutical drug and needs to be approved as such. The government is looking for money as the economy goes down. Keep in the mind the U.S. government is going after all tax havens overseas too. This all began as the economy went downhill. This is how the State tries to get some of their money back, but it’s also power maneuvers.
Side note: There’s a rumor on the internet that Kissinger told Russia that the U.S. will have confiscated all private guns by September of this year. Chuck Baldwin, former presidential candidate of the Constitution Party, did a write up about this.

Well they’ll never get their money back. The economy, money, is how the State finds a way to reach into anybody’s property for control. This is why the State going through the economic route for control is so powerful and brings huge results back to the State. It’s a covert process. Sinkin’ in through the back door so to speak. And people don’t pay attention and are mostly boggled by economic issues so the banker priests can go very far, quietly for the most part, before most people even realize this covert move to any great extent.
I disagree. He knows how to get elected and I suppose that bespeaks a certain savvy. He’s got a law degree and passed the bar, but there’s an awful lot of coasting you can do to accomplish that. He never really practiced law, much less as a business, and never engaged in any entrepeneurial activity.
He’s well spoken so far as it goes but he can’t speak extemporaneously at all. And even the speeches he’s rehearsed and reads off the teleprompter are appallingly fatuous. He gives no indication that he comprehends the slightest bit of science behind AGW theory, bio-fuels, wind/solar, etc. Naturally, he believes in all of them passionately. We know he hasn’t the slightest grasp of economic principles or financial management. In fact, all I see is this wide-eyed, cargo cult mentality that private business is just a perpetual money-making machine for him and his social engineer buddies to skim off.
We’ve all been there. Folks who can’t admit they make mistakes or are wrong are insecure. Lots of cool people here who know a lot and aren’t afraid to admit they don’t know everything.
Bill gates just a few months ago said that we need government spending to get us out of the recession. Well, you know what? If this is how ignorant our top business men are, then perhpas they deserve to be fined with a few billions here and there. Yes, it screws us also, but we’re all screwed anyway with such idiots making billions while still worshiping the state.
