How can anarchists decide which methods are most effective for social change? I can see what impact applying the philosophy of Objectivism has on my personal life, but how can I evaluate strategies for intellectual activism? I see this as a challenge because other political movements measure their success by the implementation of certain concrete goals, whereas I am interested in lowering the overall level of political violence in society. I see concrete measures such as a lower tax rate or fewer regulations as one indirect aspect of broad intellectual change, not useful measures or goals as such. Some groups are writing editorials, some are training philosophy or economics PhD’s, some are creating online forums and podcasts. How can I decide how to allocate my time and resources to the most worthy cause? How can I know whether investing my resources is worthwhile at all, as opposed to say, hoarding my gold in a tax haven and watching civilization crash and burn all around me.
