Anyway,
“Respect your elders” (Also parents)
“Love thy neighbor”
Anything with the word “Duty” or “Moral Obligation”
“Are you registered to vote?”
This classic reared its ugly head a few days ago at work. “If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain.”
“If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain.”
Oh God, I went to a “debate watching party” with 400 people at my university a few days back and the organizer said this multiple times while giving his speech on why you should register to vote. An AnCap friend and I were raging the entire time.
I dont think these are properly considered “totalitarian slogans.” more like good advice.
So i guess your professor was saying that anyone that is <18 years of age tat cannot vote, also cannot complain when their country is burning to the ground?

Damn you Wheylous! The only politically vocal friends I’ve made so far are a liberal and a social democrat! Yeah, that’s gonna be a lot of fun trying to get them to our side.
Anyway, for my fathers birthday we went to see a play about all of the presidents. At the end of the show they literally encouraged people to vote regardless of how little they knew about the issues
and some are more in this together than others.

You don’t know how many times I saw that kind of bumper sticker when my family and I took a road trip up to Nashville, Tennessee.
These were the kinds of things that were smeared on to people’s bumpers:
“Don’t vote? Don’t complain.”
“America, fuck yeah!”
“America kicks ass. Don’t like it? I’ll pack your bags.”
“Yankee go home.”
“Stand up for America! Be American!”
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
Not so much a phrase, but I despise “I believe in American exceptionalism” and all other variations.
Also, “X government employee might ruin our lives, but they aren’t responsible for the actions of politicians, so it’s okay for them to do Y”
“We might hate Y, but our politicians have comitted us to Y and we need to keep our promises.”
