FDR destroyed agriculture by cartelizing it and ordering the mass destruction of food/cottons to raise prices.
This is going to sound nooby, but I never looked into FDR’s failures. I know his failures exist, but how far does it go?
It goes back to before his involvement in government while in the military. But the extent? I would say the New Deal and WWII at the top. Corporatism and a distraction.

im no new deal scholar, but i cant think of anything fdr did that was directly against soil conservation. do you have anything specific in mind or just generally noting fdr’s poor ag policies in general?

The Agricultural Adjustment Act, while aimed at keeping crop prices high, did so by ordering the mass destruction of crops, as well as animals such as pigs and chickens. In order to pay for the destruction of crops, the Roosevelt administration had Congress enact a tax on agricultural products. Thus, the economic ethos of the New Deal was that production was bad and nonproduction was good. (found here)
