Focusing on the Poor

I was just thinking about something. One of the bigger reasons I have always had an interest in politics, (or should I say anti politics) outside of my love for liberty has been, was to find solutions to poverty. Libertarianism is a solution to it. Also I feel there is a lot of negativity thrown against libertarians as being anti poor, or at least our statist opponents want to seem to be for the poor and egalitarian. So why not have a thread discussing how libertarianism helps the poor in different ways, as well as introducing it in that way. To start it off, a libertarian approach to health would bring down it’s costs and make it more affordable for the poor.

I would imagine in a more free society there would still be a disparity between rich and poor, but the overall standard of living would rise, which should be the real goal. Who cares if the gap between rich and poor is small if everyone has a lower standard of living.
