Foucault's Panopticism

Has there ever been any commentary on Foucault’s Panopticism. Panopticism is prob. a bit obscure, but I wonder if it has ever been mentioned in libertarian political and social theory.

There are a lot of post-structuralist anarchists out there that draw heavily on Foucault. I’ve noticed a lot in Greece. I’m not sure about Panopticism specifically, however.

The idea of panopticon comes from Jeremy Bentham, but Foucault is commenting upon it. I assume you read his book Discipline and Punish?

But maybe read Bentham’s work. And there is a few articles here at mises.org about Bentham’s panopticon. Basically, it is brought up whenever there is talk about a ‘new’ security state proposal. Wherein you cannot know who is watching, usually to save money and cut down on man hours and open displays of violence.
