I’m currently writing a research paper for my philosophy class and have to express Hobbes’ “Leviathan” in games, especially prisoner dilemmas and assurance games and compare his theory to others. Now I’m wondering if someone could give me some hints on where to check. Currently I’m focussing on Gauthier, but there might be something more interesting I’m missing as well as good criticism on this topic. Jan Narveson’s contractarianism was heavily inspired by Gauthier’s work. See his essay “Gauthier on Distributive Justice and the Natural Baseline,” in which he articulates his criticism of Gauthier’s theory.
