I just want to know how good Garet’s novels are. Please make comparisons(maybe to Atlas Shrugged, etc), rank the three books, and make short review. I figured if it just talks about economics then I’d be better off reading other stuff.
I always wanted to read “The Driver” since several persons claimed it was the source of the plot for “Atlas Shrugged”, but somehow never got around to it.
So I cannot help you there.
However, one work of fiction that I have recently read that I can highly recommend is “An Enemy of The State” by F. Paul Wilson.
This was written long before either J.Raimondo’s Rothbard biography of the same title, or even the movie “Enemy of the State”.
In fact it was written in the late 80’s at a time when the author was going through a " hard-core Austro-libertarian /Murry Rothbard phase". [!!!]
In fact it is the only fiction I have discovered that is written from such a “hard-core Rothbardian” perspective.
Not only that, but F.Paul Wilson is a very accomplished and prolific author.
I am surprised that no one here seems to have read it, or to mention his other books [**The Repairman Jack series **is a must for libertarians, i beieve]
In my opinion it beats the heck out of any/all of A.Rand’s fiction- and that is from a former objectivist who read practically everything she wrote.
