I’m new to the site and have a few questions regarding the U.S. economy and government. From what I’ve heard, the government has been selling off what little gold it has left in order to keep the price artificially low to make the dollar appear stronger than it is. If all its reserves are sold off and the country eventually experiences hyperinflation from the continued bailouts, what would be the next move for the government’s money? Does anyone think that people would accept a new form of paper money after the dollar collapses? If there is no gold left to return to a commodity backed currency, could we see the end of the U.S. government? Just looking for some opinions. Thanks.
Who knows.
If they want to trade for oil, fresh water, petrol and food, they will.
No fortune tellers here, a couple apprentice wizards with little experience points can be found however.
There are other forums for worrying about the end of America, that’s not really what we discuss here. We’re into economics and philosophy much more so than current events or government policy. If you want predictions of the future, google “Gerald Celente”
Is that a documented fact ? Doesn’t sound very plausible.
I heard Ron Paul mention it in an interview.
You here people argue all the time that the world will not allow the US economy to collapse. That there economies are to dependent on The US consumer. I don’t believe they are that dependent that they will prop us up indefinitely, but currently the dollar is the worlds reserve currency. When the dollar bottoms this will be a good opportunity for the central bankers to advocate for one world currency.
No. The vast majority of the world is using fiat currencies. The vast majority of the world is statist, bordering on fascist or socialist.
U.S. power will end very fast if any other large country figures out that freedom works.
