Lew Rockwell would be proud. The Greek government is selling over 35 state buildings and a (government owned?) gas company. I assume Mr. Rockwell would want them to keep on going and sell more!
Haven’t read the article, so maybe my skepticism is unfounded, but what makes you think that the people they sell the assets to aren’t still in with the government? Privatization is a tricky business.
Hoppe said on Democracy that real privatization is giving state property to the workers who use it - in other words, are homesteading it at the moment when government gives up from its ownership. I think Rothbard was for selling property, but Hoppe made his theory after Rothbard was dead. There is no one clear opinion in the Austrian school about how privatization should be done.
