In AP World History we learned that Hamilton’s “funding and assumption” to pay soldiers from the Revolutionary War to help nearly bankrupt states was brilliant. Basically, he had the Feds give the states the money to pay soldiers from the war. This was a big federal government act, but I don’t see what other options there were at this time. Does anyone disagree with the conclusion that it was “brilliant”, and if so, what are other things that could have been done?
