I’m still new to this, but I’ve been following the daily articles on this site for the past year or so and have begun reading a lot. I’ve finished Meldown, The Case Against the Fed and Hazlitt’s excellent Economics in One Lesson. I started Rothbard’s MESPM and am about 100 pages in. It has been a long and slow process, but with the recent economic activity and Ron Paul’s 2008 presidential bid I’ve been “awakened” to a new and wonderful school of thought.
Naturally, with a new found education in AE, I’ve begun to reconsider most of my political position’s and moved strongly into the Libertarian camp. As a long time Republican and more recently neocon (even though I didn’t know that’s what I was), I can say the whole process has been enlightening. Right now I would probably put myself somewhere between a minarchist and strict constituionalist (U.S. that is). I’m intrigued by Anarcho Capitalism, but must admit some reservations since it appears on the surface to be so radical from what I’ve always known. However, I’m going to keep an open mind and will refrain from further judgement until I’m more familiar with it as a political philosphy.
