What sort of nonsense is this?
Refusing to admit healt care provided in a socialist country could be better than the one in USA is just ridicilous. It is not at all impossible.
Socialist economies did “achieve” many things. Health care, education, Sputnik, nuclear weapons…
The problem is not that a centrally controlled economy can never provide a relativley good service. The problem is that it often provides the wrong sort of services and always provides them at a far too big a cost.

Why should we take their claims at face-value? The above is true, but it does matter, as most of these countries have “successes” that are inflated out of all proportions by their own flawed statistics.

First of all…all countries giving free/high quality education and health care system are not socialist. But I find a very humane thing to do that the cost of Education and Health care to be paid by all. Because in the long run it benefits all. Education is the key for human civilization, it is power, and it erases class differences.

I find it a very inhumane thing to force others at the point of the gun to provide you with services you may or may not value.

The first is true, but does not entail that state provision is necessary. The second part is nonsense. Innate differences between individuals (including in terms of educability) will persist.

If these things are not provided by society in general (government) then who will do it??? Rich guys, bankers, CEO’S??? yeah right. They would only do such a thing when profitable to them…and I guess that is what you call free market. BTW how good are Americans in geography, culture, philosophy, sciense??? Cuba received a lot of money from the Soviet Union that helped funding the Castro regime and the socialist system. If Cuba had been forced to pay back its debts to Russia it would have been in a lot of worse shape. And, having grown up in the socialist country, I really doubt that the social services were all that great to begin with.
The money we got was used to pay for Castro’s Army. Even before Castro Cuba had an excellent health care system. He just made affordable to everyone. Prior him, I would say 80% of the population had a good access to education and healthcare.
It’s implicit, otherwise the goverment has no means of coercing its funds out of you.
Is your imagination that limited? Private enterprise and charity.

If it was so good why did it deteriorate? Why isn’t US partially socialized healthcare hasn’t become worse? People are mostly complaining about the costs but not about the quality.

The cost was not slavery. The cost was the amount of money you paid in taxes that went to health ministry.
What is the budget of Cuban health ministry? What portion of your monthly income Cuban regime takes away from you for “health insurance”? How much money it pumps into health care from other sources besides this tax?
According to the Cuban government…their National Budget is a matter of National Security.

I`m from an ex-communist country too and never heard anything of the sort, infact it would be ridicilous to imagine it so hmmh…
I had 4 grand daddies and 6 great grand daddies alive when I was 14. I have been told a lot about Cuba before and after Castro. From 1902 to 1959, Cuba was a Capitalist country, dreaming to be the “Switzerland of the Americas”. Health care was very accessible and so was education. Castro just made it better at very high cost until late 1990’s.
Why? Such fudging of statistics is hardly unfamiliar to socialist (or even so-called “capitalist”) countries. John Stossel did some interesting programmes on Cuba’s “wonderful” healthcare. His series “Sick in America” is also worth watching.

John Stossel is not a cuban name. I am CUBAN. I lived there 16 years. My mother and stepfather were doctors there, so were a lot of member’s of my family. I tell you how things were there, you choose to buy it or not…this is America.
My only point is "If Castro can do it in that little island…why can’t we do it here??? I tell you why. Supply/Demand says we need war, bailouts to banks and stuff like that.
