Henry David Thoreau

My so-called “anarchocapitalist” friend and I had a tiny debate about ancap the other day. So today he came into class with a notebook of a bunch of random political stuff, conspiracy theories and a few quotes by some anarchocapitalists for me to read. My big question is: Was Henry David Thoreau an anarcho capitalist?

Everywhere I look, I can’t find an answer…

Errmm, tough question. I think he is more of a classical liberal. He wanted the State to put the rights of the individual above all but I don’t recall him ever saying anything about anarchism. Here is an article from Strike the root.
