Herman Cain and the Federal Reserve

Herman Cain asked: What would you replace the Federal Reserve with if it was abolished by Ron Paul? Also stated giving monetary power to Congress would be wrong. Herman Cain believes the FED can be Fixed.

What do you think about the Federal Reserve?

Kinda moot now, he’s likely dropping out of the race and his donations have dried up. Kinda sad, I liked him. He was personable enough to get elected. Any repub would be marginally better than having Obama in the WH, so I’ll still vote for the nominee regarless who it is (even as a libertarian), but the only one that would really shake things up is Ron Paul. Unfortunately he doesn’t know how to win the presidency and hasn’t cultivated the kind of profile that would make him a viable candidate. Probably because he’d have to basically pretend to be a statist in order to do so, which is anathema to any non-statist :\

Ah yes, it’s not that human beings having power over the supply of money (and laws that force everyone to use it) is inherently bad…it’s just bad for human beings in certain jobs to have that power. Yeah that makes perfect sense. Basically just as much as his view on abortion.

As far as his question about replacing it, Thomas Sowell was asked that exact question…(I recommend the whole video (the whole series of interviews, actually) but the question comes in at 3:20)

I fucking love Thomas Sowell.

I think that the Federal reserve sucks ass but not as much as Congress does since they refuse to get rid of it.
