Hallo all,
where can I find a history or an exhaustive listing of business cycles, or at least the panics and depressions? There are many resources on at least some panics, I can’t seem to find one that would sum them up.
Thanks!

" where can I find a history or an exhaustive listing of business cycles"
That’s just it. A history of cycles would be exhaustive. Heck; every seven years give or take on area and land for agrarian markets. What I believe we are looking for is “why is there a cluster of entrepreneurial errors in modern business cycle phases?”
Perhaps A History of Money and Banking in the United States would be good? At least there you could get a good take on the history of busts in the U.S. and there causes. Perhaps answer what causes prolonged bust phases? What kind of long and short term effects would a radical policy change have on the hoi poloi? When would be the best part of the cycle to effect a policy change?
Maybe it would be very healthy if we could incite the mobs into a massive panic?
I think it would be interesting to study the hedging habits of actors during radical bust phases.
Good luck with your studies.
Thanks for the pointer, History of Money and Banking in the United States has definitely enough material to work with, though it might take some time. ![]()
Maybe I should restate the question - is somewhere a good listing of the major boom/bust cycles, with attendant panics and depressions, ideally not only from the US, but from the whole world?
Money, bank credit and economic cycles by Jesus Huerta de Soto http://mises.org/books/desoto.pdf is very good, at least the history sections, I admit to not having read the policy prescriptions or much of the theory (having read enough from Rothbard).
