I have recently found myself very interested in the US constitution and the history revolving around it. I want to visit Washington DC next year …
I was wondering if anyone has a really good book to recommend on the history of the US around the time of the consitution … with some interest for libertarians …
Well a few weeks ago I listened to this lecture. Covers that early history where the US was going from the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution:
The only book I’ve read about the subject (outside of school) has been the Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution. If I were to buy any other books about the Constitution, I’d get Who Killed the Constitution.
Seconded. Although, I haven’t read the guide to the Constitution, so I’ll have to also throw in The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History.
Basically I highly recommend Thomas Woods in general. In many (if not all) of his books he provides long lists of other great historical sources to look into.
