Homesteading Latinamerica
Yeah, im a noob, got the tags and writing box mixed, heh…
here goes
Heya fellas, been a while since I posted here in the Mises communitiy, and I gotta say, I have been missing the company of good an honest free marketeers out there. SO yes, glad to be back.
Anyways, just wanted to let you fellas know a little something I have noticed. You see, I have noticed that in the Spanish speaking world, homesteading is practically a non-existent concept. However, they inadvertantently practice it on certain ocassions (such as reserving movie theater seats with their sweaters, with someone watching over that is, but the sweaters mark the territory). Nonetheless, a word or concept for such action, it practically does not exist, nor is there a translation for it (I have searched high and low for a close aproximation, it has been futile T_T ).
Luckily, the concept is quickly grasped by the average Latinamerican, especially if they speak English (which accelerates the process even quicker).
I for one, at least I am going to try, to spread around this concept, perhaps it might catch up. And seeing how the Francisco Marroquin University (The bastion of Austrian Economics in Guatemala) is doing squat about it, I may as well get to it, starting with friends at least.
In english, no one knows what homesteading is either 
But great job introducing it to other people! You seem to have a very simple and effective way of explaining it. Maybe its an advantage that they don’t have the word.
Hahaha, what do you suppose is trumping this most oldest of American traditions (at least that’s my impression).
