Homogeneity is hardly found in our world of asymmetries. Triangles and lines are scarce to nature a la Mandelbrot. Yet, economists speak of supply and demand as existing only under conditions of homogeneity. I suppose that what is meant by homogenous goods is simply “working homogeneity” or, homogeneity with irrelevant margins of error

I just came back from the supermarket. All the bags of shelled walnuts looked pretty much the same to me.
