I have selected one of many of Ludwig Von Mises’s quotes on interventionism-- similar to my thoughts on it, and what it can lead to. Interventionism is not the free market. Nor is it a form of capitalism. This quote is from Human Action. I was wondering how we can separate them from their current state and get the public to believe that this is beneficial for them. What could we do to separate one from another?
By abolishing government.
I realize that this is a forum populated mostly by anarchists and not liberals (the real liberals, not these fake liberals).
I was wondering if anyone had a realistic answer. I am for getting rid of the state. It may be an evil that we can’t just get rid of. So I think we have to work within the system a bit and infiltrate the parties because the libertarian party isn’t what it should be now.
I don’t think we’ll abolish the state overnight or any time soon. So… any ideas?
Real privatization and elimination of regulations.
Resort to the black market. Help people who are in desperate need through the black market and publicize it. You might go to jail or something, but it might win over some hearts.
It’s hard to convince people of the ideas that go around here. I just speak with open-minded people, and that’s never going to be most people.
I have gone through the metamorphosis: Socialist, democrat, republican, independent conservative, Constitutionalist, Ron Paul supporter. However, the bailout, the takeover of industry, $2 trillion annual deficits, $11 trillion in debt, two undeclared wars, a Constitution that members of Congress use to line the bird cage, pandering to the Communist State (China) so they keep buying our debt. On and on it goes.
With that background, all I can suggest is to sit back and watch the train wreck. Just try to stay out of the way. No need to intercede. No need to do anything. No need for useless political action, no need to write your Congressman. Just watch. When the day arrives when the Empire collapses under its own weight, you will know that you are in no way responsible. At least we will be among the few who will understand the cause of the disaster. At that point, perhaps something can be done. Until then, I honestly don’t believe anything can be done to work within the system.
Ron Paul has worked for 30 years to this end. The teeth will be pulled from his audit the Fed bill, just as the leaders of Congress planned all along. It took 30 years of hard work to get that bill to the floor. We don’t have another 30 years. Honestly, not at $2 trillion per year plus what is coming (socialized medicine, cap and trade, card check). What are they going to do, raise taxes? Hah! What about the resulting unemployment? Provide more benefits, print more money, build more wind farms? See my point?
