How many companies failed in the Internet bubble?

Does anyone have information on how many companies failed/went bankrupt/were taken over as a consequence of the dot-com bubble? I’m trying to map out the consequences of the bubble, but can’t seem to find general data, there’s mainly mentions of failed big companies.

(One often quoted source is from Webmergers.com: “Internet Companies Three Years After the Height of the Bubble”, but no online copy seems to be available either. )

You’ve probably seen this from the Webmergers report, but:

There were probably a lot more bedroom-office pseudo-companies selling nothing that imploded, too.

Oh I’m sure. A company would at least have to be successful enough to generate a paper trail to appear in Webmergers. Some bedroom-office guys would just get hired on to a larger firm and be invisible to such reports unless they had some technology or burgeoning market position to buy out.

Yep. Did anyone come across this resource or something more current?
