How would privatization of California water ways would work ?

I could use a little more to go off of.

Are we talking water rights or navigation?

Draw up a millions billions shares of the water ways. Distribute them evenly to people.

both

Privatize them, then they work.

I think we should start saying ‘marketize’ instead of privatize. That way if the government simply grants a monopoly privilege to some company people will not think that we got what we called for.

Sell to highest bidder.

I have heard people calling for the privatization of oceans, forests, water and many many other resources. But…

Who has the right to sell these non private resources anyways???

Lunatics…

^Open for homesteading

Do you think that calling us lunatics is appropriate behavior? Do you think that putting…all these periods makes people take you more or less seriously? Have you ever read a single piece by Austrian economists on public goods?

Anyhow, for those who aren’t entrenched collectivist ideologues, one thing you could read is The Economics of Water in the West.

I kind of forgot about the other homesteading thread, then didn’t feel like responding because it requires a treatise, and I don’t have time for that when the same topics spring up every day.

No need to feel offended. It was also not directed towards AE…but to any person with such an ideology …yet…not being disrespectful. I don’t care whether people take me seriously or not…I only need my family and my employer to take me seriously. I have had the enormous pleasure of reading substantial AE material…yet…I have not been indoctrinated by it.

Thanks.

That isn’t what I asked, and I don’t believe this.

What do you do for a living? I would fire you immediately if you wrote me an email with all those periods. Do you write your work emails like that?

Well I work as an Assistant controller for a small concrete company. I have a MBA in Finance a BS in Economics and I am now pursuing my MSA (Master of Science in Accounting).

As you can see writing skills are not really something in my field, especially for a non English speaking person like me.

Thanks…

PS. We are leaving the main topic here…I suggest we get back to the debate instead of my writing and other stuff…

Its like in those oldschool JRPGs where one of the good guys gets brainwashed by the evil empire:

‘i cant… control…self…must find…power crystals…’

lolz

It will never happen. Or at least it won’t for hundreds of years.

What are you talking about? Don’t make me go all Karl Popper on your ass.

But if we privatize it, it’ll be like that movie Chinatown.

You talking to me ER? If so be my guest.

One of Popper’s well-known (but rather commonsense) theses is that we can’t have prior knowledge of future events. A corollary of your hypothesis must be that California will survive its debt crisis and remain sovereign forever (or a few hundred years). So, I can at least say that I am skeptical of your claim.
