I think relationships between individuals(groups) are doomed to failure forever.

Which we are.

I’m not sure I get your hatred of elites-if by elites you mean people who are superior in certain respects or areas.

A good way to look at that is this:

if everyone was equal(I.e. no superior people in certain thingd) who would we have to look up to ,to make us strive to suceed and accomplish great things.

it’s the superior people who stop us becoming arrogant.

if everyone was equal (i.e. no inferior people in certain things) who would we have to want to work to achieve better things.Who would we have to show us where we came from.who would.

it’s the inferior people who stop us becoming disheartened.

No offense to anyone inspired by him but Molyneux isn’t the perfect person to get advice from.

In so far as he’s an-cap and libertarian he’s great but I would add some caveats to that.

Be careful of his ideas on the family. He has the weird idea that statism and desire for statism comes from the family( …and this idea differs from Hoppe’s idea of natural elites and state emergence from them and that whole thing..) this drives him to see families as inherently full of conflict and controlling.I find his ideas of family and psychology of the family distasteful , a bit overreaching and slightly cultlike.

His arguments are sometimes weaker than he makes out.

“They will develop a personality that will set them up for failure. This is a tradition that is passed on through generations.”

you forget free will.People can and do escape these types of situations. It’s just it requires will power, psychological help of some kind and a change in thinking.

So you believe that you are naturally above everyone else and have some special kind of intellect

If the shoe fits wear it.

People like Jon, and many on this forum, are a bit more well read than the average Joe. It has nothing to do with any type of ‘special’ intellect but it does have something to do with taking the time and responsibility of learning about one’s convictions before developing a superficial argument. That wonderful trait is generally missed amongst the mass majority of others.

My recommendation to you is reading the first several chapters of Human Action and see if it answers any of your questions.

Free Will’s existence is subjective. Some people don’t change because they don’t know how to, or have been conditioned by nature to set themselves up for negative decision making, and lead down a bad path. Maybe, they don’t even have the will to, if they do it might become too late.

I knew a girl who was shallow, and even admitted she was. This is not a personality trait that is good to have, but she didn’t seem to want to change it. Rather, she couldn’t, she was conditioned by the mainstream media to grow into that kind of personality. She doesn’t have the mindset, or the intelligence, to think about it differently because she grew up in a one-sided world. She never will, you don’t undo conditioning.

How exactly is it wrong? Chemicals in our brain register stimuli associated with life-changing events in our memory.

They tend to stick with abusive friends, or friends of their intellectual level. None of them would be bright enough to give the advice that he/she needs. Maybe someone does give them good advice, but then they ignore it.

Very few people are willing to advocate their own health, or try to reinforce their lifestyle so that they are the best they can be. If they were conditioned improperly under irresponsible, abusive, or immature parents.

Conditioning by the mass media. Teen girls see the vain, attractive, dead sexy female musician or celebrity as admirable traits, and want to live up to them.

Plus, we were neat friends. It would have been more logical to embrace how well our personalities worked together. She would have enjoyed it too. However, her conditioning got in the way. She only wants to talk to hot and “cool” guys. Had she not been conditioned, she would see the value in a friendship.

Can you convince me that there’s a chemical for ‘Free Will’? Or that such metaphysical, or God exists?
