The bank that I was the largest stockholder in, “failed”, according to regulators and the FDIC.
The regulators, and FDIC, pushed the bank into failure, because we did not operate the bank as they thought we should.
Fractional reserve banking, along with fiat currency and the monetary policies of the United States government and Federal Reserve system, are the causes, and the only causes, of the current economic “crisis”. It was manufactured (albeit stupidly) by those powers.
It will be magnified and worsened by the current actions of the Federal Reserve, the Treasury Department, and the fools who believe what they tell them in Congress and the White House.
I have been in the ACTUAL trenches, and know EXACTLY how, and why, this system is as it is. I daresay no one on earth has any more in-depth experience than I. I know exactly what is going on, and can predict with a very high degree of certainty what the long-term trends will be.
If you mean the employees of the bank - they were accepted by the new bank which was given a sweetheart deal by their insider friends at the FDIC to steal what we had and give it to them.
If you mean my fellow shareholders - they were shell-shocked, because they saw firsthand the actual machinations of the government at work, and how it rewards the insiders and punishes the outsiders (think - William Wallace and Scotland).
If you mean my fellow board members - they were astounded that the FDIC could “steal” a buyer which we found for the bank, convince them to take it AFTER they had closed it for less than we had made a deal to sell it to them for, and therefore throw all of us under the bus to favor one of their “buddies”.
Governments are bad. People who trust government are like the German citizens who lived 10 miles from Buchenwald, and knew what was going on, but were ok with it as long as it wasn’t happening to THEM.
There is a revolution coming. Mark my words. It will be slow, and it will take time until the apparatchiks finally push folks over the edge, but when they do, it will be ugly. Buy guns, store ammunition, have a year’s supply of food on hand, and keep gold and silver available. If you think I am over-reacting, think again; you are a fool to ignore the obvious.
Your story is all too common place. Many people have confused the idea that they are free just because the government hasn’t gotten to them yet. When you experience the reality of government it is usually eye-opening. I am working on online gold currency system and would welcome your insight.
I would enjoy setting up a true bank. I have all the necessary pieces in hand to do so. It would have to be a 100% gold-backed, private-currency bank. It will have to be based outside the United States, and have no connection with any U.S. owners (read the story of the owner and originator of e-gold to see why).
It will work, well. It will make money, honestly. It will grow extremely rapidly.
I don’t think you read her post. She was strongarmed by the government and was smart enough to recognize what they were doing. She also offered a plan. Do you really think that knowledge alone is going to save you when you’re being robbed? No, you will need protection to stop the crime. I only pray that Austrian ideology prevails so these doomsday scenarios do not occur.
From what I’ve seen the problem of all the gold backed banks (other than outright government theft to 'fight the terrorists) is acceptance of the deposit certificates in general everyday use.
Competing with the ones who have the Real Big Guns usually doesn’t go too well for the small guy and this would be in direct compitition with the monopoly fiat currency.
If I have misrepresented your statements, then please forgive me. You say I am correct to include points 1 to 3, but incorrect to include point 4. The following quote was the basis for point 4:
Acceptance of the currency for general everyday use requires only that it be convertible to the fiat currency of your choice, to be applied to the fiat credit card of your choice. That is easily doable. It has been done. It is being done.
The most difficult problem to solve, frankly, is the guns. That is, what jurisdiction will, (for a moderately extortionate fee), supply you with your protection.
The Russian mafia is an option, as is any enterprise similarly organized.
The only true question is, do you really have the cojones for the task? Is the potential reward worth the considerable risk? I think so. I am ready to proceed.
