Is there a difference between ideology and politics? I see some people call libertarianism a paper ideology.
Libertarianism is a political philosophy. Socialism, conservatism, theocracy, and similar frauds are ideologies.
I thought an ideology was a set or principles and/or operating protocols for the running of a society. Thus, libertarianism would qualify.

Politics is often thought of as, “Who gets what, when, and how”; clearly a Statist concept to me, wherein allocation of resources is unilaterally decreed by a monopoly. I consider libertarianism outside the realm of politics. It’s really the rejection of politics, in a manner of speaking. Of course, the average person would consider libertarianism a political stance, but when getting into the details I find it often becomes necessary to point out the fundamentally different nature of libertarianism as opposed to other political doctrines. I even think a lot of people here are sometimes confused about this on some level.
