Would they continue to try and overthrow all private property and then share it equally? There is less that they can do since there wont be laws protecting unions and minimum wage laws.
What would happen? Would they try to continue their crusade and defy Capitalism?
They’d fill TV shows and newspapers speaking of the “hollowness” of our material beigns and all such cr*p. A generation after the state-crash speaking in favor of laws do to this or that would be foolish. No one could even envision laws.
I would even imagine socialist trying to set up governmental-type institutions by trying to get the gullible underclass to buy into their “free money” or “shared prosperity” schemes.
Ultimately I would expect the firms commissioned by everyone else to defend private property to round up the socialist that try this as criminals.
The same thing that happened to the idea of owning slaves. The ideas would die off. Once people recognize that taxation is extortion, then it won’t come back.
Um, most Marxists oppose (at least the full-scale ones) these things as band-aids on the capitalist system. I’d imagine that in an an-cap world, Marxists would try to live according to their beliefs. If there were enough of them, it might work, to a certain standard of living. If there were enough of them that I thought it would work, and they seemed to be honest Marxists, maybe I’d join them - I’m personally willing to give up some standard of living in exchange for lifestyle, but I’m not willing to do it in your behalf.
I think they’d die out for the most part, except for small, voluntary communes; these wouldn’t be hostile, at all, and would merely use persuasion to get you to join them, and not force.
I think it’d be very difficult for them to make any good arguments once we hit the ancap state (though personally I don’t think we’ll ever hit this), as it’d be self-evident by that point that it was deregulation and the lack of government that made society prosperous and peaceful and not the State.
marxism is a school of thought. their intellectual members still live bourgeois lives and do not wish to part with modern amenities to live in communes. i think you have anarchist socialists in your mind.
