Immigration in the US/ Western Europe/The Commonwealth

Has there been a group of people who have immigrated to the US in some significant number and on average not thrived much greater than the lot they started with? Are the results similar in Western Europe or the Commonwealth? Example, would the Indians or Arabs significantly improve thier lot on average about the same as they would in the US on avg?

Many of the recent non Western European groups immigrating over (Arabs, Indians, Asians, Greeks, Russians, and I think north Africans) out perform the more “traditional” white American natives in school. Is this true in Europe/the Commonwealth as well? Is there any studies on the reason why that is for this trend?

Well, there’s no reason why their lot shouldn’t improve - leaving a poor(er) country for a richer one is the quickest way out of poverty. This is true of European migration to the United States and post-WW2 migration to Australia and the US.

Meso-Americans and Africans.

Doubtless, it’s because of the evil white man. I’m sure there are any number of studies out there that confirm this. Of course, non-whites such as Han Chinese and Hindu seem to do just fine.

My understanding is that Latin Americans do just fine in the US, especially a generation or so after immigration. African Americans are still plagued by government-created problems, however.
