In the context of a commodity money system, would inflation still occur due to the fiat money system of other nations? If our nation abolished all governmental monetary policy, how would the fiat money system of other nations affect our commodity money system?

I have talked to people who have objected to a commodity money system because they believed that other nations that still have a fiat money system would affect us negatively.

If we had commodity currency it would quickly outpace fiat currencies by slowly deflating instead of slowly inflating. companies would realize this and not be as eager for foreign investment as they are now.
