Is gamlbing prohibited by federal laws or various state laws?
If its federal laws, then wouldn’t people like Sheldon Adelson, stand to lose alot of money if Ron Paul became president? Probably like millions of dollars a year, perhaps even billions? Is that why Sheldon is thinking about giving $100 million to Newt’s campaign?

I’m not sure. So, you’re saying every other state came to an agreement and prohibited gambling? And if there are no federal laws prohibiting gambling, then people need to question Rick Santorum and ask him why, if he’s such a social conservative, does he think gambling should be allowed on a federal level?
But then again, there is gamlbing in Louisanna. but there’s nothing like Las Vegas. So, are Louisanna’s gambling laws more restrictive than Nevada’s?

Yes. I’m not a gambling law expert, but as far as I know, the only gambling in Louisiana is on Indian reservations and boats that aren’t technically on shore…meaning they are not subject to normal state law.

The whole reason I thought it might be a sarcastic joke was because (1) he admitted he didn’t even really know, and (2) didn’t present anything that remotely established him as an authority on the subject…yet you reacted as if he were a gambling attorney who had responded with a US Code statute reference and a couple of case precedents.

The passage you quote is specifically regarding gambling that takes place online.
a) I don’t see the purpose in focusing on a specific type of gambling when the question was at the very least about gambling in general, and (quite probably) about casino gambling (i.e., non-Internet gambling)…as, the genesis for the question was an article about a famous casino magnate and a question of whether he would stand to lose money if Ron Paul were elected and worked toward repeal of any supposed federal laws that prohibit gambling.
