Just wondering if there’s some common cause to be had between anti-Keynesian economics and the otherwise wretched environmental movement. Is the Keynesian emphasis on “stimulated” consumption behind today’s spendthrift consumerist culture?
I don’t know about the environmental connection, but your last question is certainly true. We (Americans) are currently consuming something like 110% of everything that is being produced, and it is because of the government-created abundance of credit and dearth of savings.
Then it seems there would be some common cause with environmentalists, since they blame environmental degradation on consumerism. If they knew what Keynesian policy was all about, maybe they’d join us in fighting it?
That requires the ability to sustain long chains of inferential reasoning.
