I have seen many anarcho-capitalists use Somalia as an example of a stateless society. However, according to the map below, it looks like almost all of Somalia is either controlled by the Somaliland government, the TFG government, or one of the various Islamist governments. Is the map inaccurate, or has Somalia reverted back to statism since 1991?
Um. Where have you seen anarcho-capitalists use Somalia as an example of anarchism? I’ve only seen statists use Somalia as an example of a country to discredit anarchism. I have no idea what you’re talking about-- could you point to where some anarcho-capitalists defend Somalia?
The various factions covering the map have loose control over their dynamic areas. Many Somalians reject them but not without much fear and trepidation.
Many AnCaps like Somolia because of their peoples historical rejection of entralized government control and their use of traditional Xeer law which requires no state.
