It’s fast food. The ingredients are cheap, as is the labor. What else do you expect?
I do not understand the question.
is taco bell a example of the free market providing cheap affordable food for 99 cents
Yep! It’s hardly a miracle, though.
The word “miracle” threw me off. I would say it is a product of the free market. Not sure what qualifies as a “miracle of the free market”.
It’s not really a miracle although statists will always try to blame the market for something, like obesity. Lol I was in my sociology class and someone was doing a presenation on the “victims of obesity” and my teacher of course seen this as an oppurtunity to blame the markets and the fast food industry.
Teacher: “Do you guys know the only reason why Mcdonalds came out with the super size?”
another student: “Because of the enormous profits”
Teacher: “You’re damn right!”
Me : “LOL”
I hate taco bell… Hell I hate tacos… But I especially hate taco bell… In fact I hate taco bell so much I want the state to nationalize it so I can demand for its destruction…
Take that taco bell…

If their food was a miracle it wouldn’t be garbage. I’ve dumpster dived better feast.
Them and Whataburger should be in textbooks next to market failure.
Whataburger is delicious. You’re crazy.
I’ve seen only one Whataburger. It was in a sketchy part of town.
I used to work at a taco bell when I was in high school. Suffice it to say, they keep their costs to an absolute minimum. Their food isn’t cheap for no reason.
Do you by any chance remember where they got their food products from?
Hm. They’re a wholly owned subsidiary of Yum! Corporation, which I think does it’s own distribution. I don’t know anything beyond that.
While maybe Taco Bell isn’t a miracle itself, I certainly think that the fact that some people can buy food for the day for $1-5 is in fact a miracle of the market. While Taco Bell, and similar fast food chains, are absolutely low quality as compared to other foods today, they are probably just as healthy as much of the food which was eaten five hundred years ago.
Whole foods are even cheaper… especially calorie/health wise.
