That is either a typo or Japanese men are dwarfs. My waist is 27" and I am 5’7", 112 lbs.

What part of being forced into councelling is an incentive? Sure, the businesses give their employees free gym memberships, but only under the compulsive threat of fines.

Ok are we talking about the freedom to be fat? Or are we talking about fetma as a consequence of insane habits? Are most fat people fat because they want to be fat?
You know, if somebody were to tell you that there was a new fat tax, you would usually think they’re just doing a silly stand up routine. Apparently, its no longer a joke.

Hey, if it’s alright for government to force people to maintain their lawns, why can’t it force people to maintain their health in order to please other people’s aesthetic sensibilities?
But seriously, this is disgusting. It’s just the vicious cycle of interventionism: first they screw up nutrition science, then they try to coerce people into being healthy. Poison as food, poison as antidote.
Not sure about the illegal to be ugly part. Remember Stalin? He was hardly a looker. Hitler looked like shit too. A few of the warlords over in Africa are missing half their face. Most politicians are old wrinkley men. Apparently, Bill Clinton is attractive, but I really don’t see it. Mussolini looked constantly angry. Really, the ruling class hasn’t been composed of mostly attractive people since the kings and queens of earlier centuries.
Heard about this. Don’t get me wrong, I like a lot of the stuff that comes out of Asia (entertainment etc), but the people in that region of the world for some reason seem to have the most consistent hatred of freedom I’ve ever seen… and the further back into the history you go, the more shocking it gets. (Of course, now it seems the trend is headed back towards slavery.)
I wasn’t at all surprised to hear about this in an asian nation. (Which is pretty sad in itself.) Disappointing it was Japan, where they should be less ignorant, but no major shock here.
Didn’t you get the memo? “Incentive” is just the latest term meaning coercion. Seriously, I completely expect such euphemisms to be used increasingly in the US while freedom is further destroyed.

The comments on that page are mildly retarded. How could so many people think that this is a “rad” idea? These are the little trivial stories that expose just how indoctrinated people are… Iin their defense I am sure they would claim to support freedom, it just doesnt even occur that freedom is relevant to these “obesity” laws.

I doubt that the royalty of yore were as attractive as their paintings would make them. They were probably “dolled up” to a considerable degree.
