Keeping Libertarian, Keeping Left

Once again the ridiculous notion comes up that the state should use its power against the corporations. I never get anarchist, Chomsky, who believe this. One either believes the state is a legitimate means to an ends (a statist) or it isn’t (an anarchist). Nobody, or at least very few people, advocate the state for the sake of it. Liberals believe that we need it to help the poor etc. whereas others believe we need it for security. Whatever they think, they don’t favour having a state for the point of having the state.

And yet it still doesn’t follow that Wal-Mart would cease to exist completely. Which is true of banks and the like, but necessary Wal-Mart.

Other than that I have nothing else to say and I more or less agree with all of it. However, none of this particularly lefitst. It’s just not vulgar libertarianism.
