I believe frictional contact is the primary source of transmission, not fluids per se.
The proper attitude, I think, is to have no opinion at all on things on which one is not an expert. I have no opinion on whether AIDS or HIV exist, any more than I have a view about the best way to grow potatoes or the most effective technique of driving a tank. Be an expert in your chosen discipline, whether it’s a trade, art, or science, know things that affect your personal life, and leave the rest to others who are more qualified.
If it were just frictional contact, then men would just as likely to get it from a woman, but it turns out women have a higher chance of getting it from a guy that has it. Also, for example, if you have an open cut and you get some blood in there from someone with AIDS, you can get it that way too.
agreed thoughwith dchernik that folks should stick with what they know…but even if you’re not an expert in something, I think it’s fine to still comment on it if you have a basic grasp of things and have some knowledge of the views of other people that ARE experts. For example, if a doctor or pharmacist tells you how a certain drug works and what the side effects are and why, then that doesn’t mean you should abstain from letting other people know. You could just say “this is what my doctor told me” or whatever.
In that case, the House of Commons would be empty.
