Libertarianism and sex

Why are there so few libertarian women?

somone is scaring them away?

is it you !?

curses!

I don’t think this is necessarily true. It just happens to be that the majority of people who discuss on online forums are male (at least, when it comes to general topics, as opposed to topics such as “feminist studies”).

First, I don’t know what the importance of this question is, and I’m not going to make a comment about it.

Second, I’ll take a stab.

From what I can tell, men are more likely to be on the extremes of any bell curve than women. The philosophy of libertarianism doesn’t seem to be something out of the ordinary, or commonplace, or not extreme.

This paper really helped in my understanding of some of the differences between men and women:

Is There Anything Good About Men?: http://www.psy.fsu.edu/~baumeistertice/goodaboutmen.htm

Why are there so few women in general active in the philosophical side of any radical or political movement? I think it’s partly acculturation and social influence, and partially nature.

There are plenty of female libertarians if you know where to look (Facebook).

Gender would have been less misleading in the title.

Bossism.

Yea, I expected a more interesting subject.

Sexual penetration is a violation of private property !!!

I’ve been wanting to discuss this section of von Mises’ Socialism vs. Rothbard-Evers contract theory. I think it can round out a lot of the touchy subjects we get into when discussing voluntarily assumed positive obligations.

Well, the libertarian movement is in favour of non-oppression. Individuals tend to fight for ideologies they believe to be in their class interest. So, libertarians tend to be smarter, more affluent, male, heterosexual, white, Christian, healthy, productive, tax-paying (if they can’t avoid it), attractive, proud, and any other politically incorrect quality.

I’ve found that if you scratch away the superficial political cliches and with a little bit of intensive questioning most self-sufficient, industrious people are actually libertarians… they just don’t know it yet. [8-|]

Or maybe some people just like the thought of freedom.

Libertarians tend to be Christian?

Why there are so few libertarians period ?

It should read like that! [;)]

I think it depends alot on whether you are on the giving or recieving end of redistribution.

K, look. I’m guessing.

But I think you will find a higher percentage of libertarians are Christian than the percentage relative to the general population.

Are you saying women are bossy?[:P]

Yeah, that is total nonsense.
