Looks Like Tax Havens Are Going to Be the Next Big Target

That’s enough to pay off the national debt 1.5x, so I guess people will now argue that in order to solve the debt problem they just have to close the loopholes that allows companies to do this.

Those holes won’t be closed. Even if they are, other loopholes will be put in, you think people that rich are going to roll over so the government can rob them?

If this is real (it smells a lot like a propaganda piece designed to make the oppressed masses cheer yet another round of regulation which will end up hurting them the most) I need to ask: is this stolen money? Because if it isn’t it’s none of our business where it ends up. If a billionaire who made his fortune in, say, selling kitchen sinks wants to move his own wealth it’s none of my business. If I want to move my wealth, it’s none of the billionaire’s business.

This is yet another example of public education at work: money is not yours. It should be put in a big pot and then “redistributed” according to each one’s needs. If somebody doesn’t contribute, he’s stealing from the pot and hence making everybody poorer. European governments have already taken to air ads showing if you don’t pay every single dime children will die of hunger and exposure in the streets and diabetics will be denied insulin. Newspapers keep on remembering us each and every day the joys of paying taxes. Karl Marx would be proud of his triumph.

And that is all good for the entire of humanity. This 21 trillion is what is left of savings, these savings are what entrepreneurs use to fund future projects. These savings are difference from the disaster of central bank created money as these were the product of consumers setting aside real wealth. It is a sorry state in the world and in the field of economics when intelligent people either believe in the current force based economic systems or are just using these envy arguments to enhance their own well being.

Yup. And that’s why Liechtenstein should be bombed into non-existence, together with Ireland, the channel islands, Monaco, Switzerland, plenty of small islands here and there, etc. These countries (ok, except Switzerland) don’t have the means to maintain an army, and yet they constantly hurt their much bigger neighbors. They’re like ticks in every way. Why do we let them live?

Answer: because the rich are giving just enough money to the governments to keep things that way. And I don’t mean through taxes or any other official means. This is probably mostly indirect – that is, they don’t give suitcases full of cash. But rich people have politician friends, politicians have rich friends, and the higher up you go in either rich or politician circles, the more closely they merge. It’s no surprise that they’d work to help one another, or at least to avoid hurting one another.

That applies very nicely to Romney (net worth: $200,000,000), but Obama isn’t middle class either (net worth: $12,000,000).

There was a massive international meeting about tax havens some time ago. Decisions were taken. A firm international stance was taken. A few years later, nothing has changed. What do you think happened? The whole meeting ended up as little more than a message to the rich: “Don’t be too flashy with your wealth, and be nicer to us, the poor are getting annoying.”

… So, what COULD we do about it? Firstly, international money transfers should be much more heavily regulated, including investments abroad. Secondly, society taxes should depend exclusively on where a society’s activity resides – and not on where a society’s siege of operations resides, even for companies operating mostly online (Google…). Thirdly, tax haven activities (working to extract the rich out of a country and hide their money in another) should be considered an act of aggression worthy of immediate reprisals (blockade, etc.). Of course it’s not like this is going to happen. I mean, Ireland is part of the EU. How fucked up is that?

This post from a certain other forum seems to be the general European socialist reaction to this news

A certain cryptocurrency would be very handy if governments wanted to make tax havens difficult, also
