What is the best book outlining the assumptions and logic of mainstream economics?

I haven’t read this yet, but I’ve heard it gives a good ideaof the mentality of those on the left.

Just go to your local college/ used college book store and pick up a used 101 micro and macro text (such as Mcgraw-Hill).

There is also “Economics for Dummies”. "Basic Economics" by Thomas Sowell, or perhaps the best bet may be Pop Internationalism by Paul Krugman
