Most people I know who have at one time been egoists become libertarians, because having become educated in economics, they realize that an ethical system that promotes voluntary human interaction is inherently in their own interest (and hence “moral” insofar as an egoist can consider anything moral). So I have no more of a problem with egoism than I do with any other secular individualist philosophy.
I don’t see the framework of either as inherently in contradiction.
