When: 25–26 November, 2011 (Friday night dinner followed by a day full of lectures)

The Mises Seminar is a national event that aims to educate the public in Austrian-school economics and libertarian theory in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard and Hans-Hermann Hoppe, while celebrating the notable contributions of other Austrian-school economists such as Friedrich A. Hayek and Israel Kirzner.

Leading scholars and authors will discuss a wide range of subjects including Austrian-school economic theory, methodology, history, libertarian ethics and theory. The seminar will also provide an opportunity for Austrian-school libertarians to connect with other likeminded colleagues from across Australia.

Confirmed Speakers:

We have bought the domain mises.org.au, but need to make a website for the conference. The site would need to have the following functionality: (1) An online registration form for participants to indicate interest in attending (2) Paypal payment system (3) bios & pics of confirmed speakers (4) Links to affiliates (i.e. la.org.au, economics.org.au) (5) general info. An example of what we want is at sunrisesinthewest.org

I’m widely read in AE, and I’ve pretty much read everything published by Hoppe in English - is it worth me coming up from Melbourne?

Why wouldn’t it be? You’ll get the chance to ask Hoppe questions first-hand, not to mention the other speakers. It’s also about building support for starting a Mises Institute in Australia.
