I’m looking for books to read on a few subjects. By monopoly theory, for lack of better words, the idea that it is not in a monopolies best interest to charge exorbitantly high prices. I gathered two historical references from Tom Woods’ “Politically Incorrect Guide to American History”., being that ALCOA and Standard Oil both dropped their prices when the were monopolies.
On philosophy, i’m just looking for recommended, clear, easy reading books on popular philosophies from Austrian authors(not required).
Every exchange is a unique and subjectively oriented act. Either all exchanges are monopolies and monopsonies, as unique events with the exchange of specific, subjectively valued commodities or no events are monopolies or monopsonies because all possible products at the same time compete with one another on the market.
Either way - aside from a government grant - the term ‘monopoly’ and ‘monopsony’ are praxeologically meaningless. People who talk about ‘monopolies’ on the market are just talking gibberish.
