In a panel discussion where some experts discussed the systems of healthcare in place, I had a good question. What if we left healthcare to the market?
I argued that the current system was regulated, however, the panel experts insisted that it was only in specific areas, such as medicad and lawsuits. The physicians could do anything, and their success or failure would determine their pay. What?
Another said it would not work (an expert economist) because infomation is imperfect, so we need Government to save us from this sin.
I think this is what they said; I try to remember it clearly. However, it seems sad that some experts have just thrown out these things.
Too bad when I discussed this with mom, she attacked with strawman, that I don’t support stopping medical practicioners who are bad, since I oppose the AMA.
P.S.: The most unwise thing I heard from a discussion was that someone wanted to edit out greed from the human population.
Any constructive feedback? More will come soon.
